Director And Head Of ETC
Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised as an Army brat, Deborah Voss developed an early love for storytelling and the arts while moving from place to place. She earned her Master’s degree in Directing from the University of Montana and built a career in professional theatre, joining the Actors’ Equity Association in 2010 as a professional stage manager.
Deborah began teaching at Denver East High School in 2015, first serving as Technical Director before stepping into the role of Artistic Director. Since then, she has helped shape the East Theatre Company into a vibrant, student-centered program known for its artistic excellence and collaborative spirit. Among her favorite productions produced at East are To Kill A Mockingbird, Once on This Island, Something Rotten, Red Ink, Antigone, and Urinetown the Musical.
Dedicated to inspiring young artists, Deborah combines her professional experience with a passion for education, challenging students to grow as performers, designers, storytellers and people while fostering an inclusive and creative community.
Technical Director
This guy here is Dave Medicus. Dave loves to run, as it affords him the opportunity to say “I was out for a run” when people are looking for him. When not shaping the minds of America’s youth as a High School Drama teacher, you can find Dave out running.
Nawledge Brewington
Musical Director
Nawledge Brewington graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Music Performance. As as alumni of East High School, he is very excited to be the music director for East Theatre Company.
